Kathy Jaffari will present “Compliance Challenges and Ethical Considerations in Today's Regulatory Environment: Some Practical Solutions” during the American Bar Association’s Business Law Spring Meeting. The session will examine the core ethics issues that arise when in-house lawyers, outside counsel, and compliance leaders must advise companies through fast-moving regulatory change, politically charged business decisions, internal concerns, and emerging reputational risk. Discussions will focus on several recurring questions: who the client is in the organizational setting; how lawyers deliver candid, independent advice under pressure; when conflicts must be recognized and addressed; when concerns must be escalated within the company; and what responsibilities legal leaders have when supervising lawyers, compliance personnel, outside providers, and technology-enabled workflows.
